Talking LPG Again?

Hi

Today Myrtle my Mini is in for a LPG fitting, I know there has been some conversations on this subject before but I have had LPG in other cars before and not had any issues, the only thing with the Mini is I lose the boot space but this is a second car..

The cost is £895 all in inc vat and a loan car for the duration.

I'm not sure what to expect in MPG and I have had Myrtle for long but I would expect to get at the worst 30mpg (UK). In money terms a 1000 miles would cost £105 in LPG and Petrol would cost at 35mpg £195 so that's £90 saving per 1000 miles so it will pay for its self in under 10000 miles..

I intend keeping the car for 3-4 years so it will do 30k - 40K so providing there is a gap in the two prices I will continue to gain it should pay for the car and upkeep

I will keep you posted with any updates good and bad!

Pictures Tomorrow

Been quite a while since I first looked into LPG.
How much is it a litre nowadays, & does the tank take over the bootspace completely or does it replace the original tank?

LPG TANK will hold 72l, You can get a lot smaller but I wanted the range.

Engine Feed

Tested/drove home for 100 miles then refilled the tank and is did 34mpg used 13.22l so it cost £9.24, Petrol would have cost 17.45 so I have saved 8.21! may last car woul have cost £24 for the same trip At this point it was a differnet pump filling the tank, these work stop on pressure so one pump to another can be different so I will fill up at the same pump next time..

The tank will take up to about 72l it has filled the boot but I get a good range this way..

I have one problem, well its was a issue before but its worse now.. The Back tyres are rubbing on the wheel Arch when going over bumps.. I'm not sure if its been lowered, but It has big wheels on Look

215/45-17 tires are taller and wider than the stock 205/45-17 fitment. I suspect that your aftermarket wheels have a low offset.

Do you know the wheel make and model?

All that puts me off LPG is the filler showing! Look to have done a neat job of that mind... Can always use the back seats for luggage, and it means you don't have to take anything places for people as you've no boot!!!
