02 plate Mini One - MPG

Hi

Apologies if this has been asked a million times before.

I am looking to buy an 02 plate Mini One with 90k on clock. It has a full mini dealer service history and has just gone through a major service.

However, I am worried what MPG i would get out of it. I mainly do motorway driving and wondered if anyone could help.

Many thanks

Lou

The first generation cars were not that good on mpg. I had a Cooper and could just get into the low 40's mpg on a run if I was lucky but it was 36 mpg around town.

I have a 2002 Mnii One and find the mpg comparable to any other similar small car (of the same era) I have owned or driven/or compared with...........beware of any of the often quoted car manufacturers mpg figures, few people can match them in real world driving but steady motorway speeds of around 55mph in 5th gear are closest you are likely to ever get to the ideal.

Hi Lou
Did you get your mini in the end? My '02 that I sold just before Xmas did 46mpg but that was on a regular 50 mile commute so regular 100 a day.
