Hi to all at mini2.com, I'm a newbie here having just bought my 1st mini one, R50 2002. I'm having airbag light problems, I had to replace the airbag ecu as it was faulty, so managed to get a used one from ebay. I am now getting "11 battery, positive terminal isolation 1". Indicating the the battery safety link is faulty. Yet as far as I can make out the mini one does not have a battery safety link, (it looks like this only applies to the cooper models with a battery in the boot)
can someone shed some light on what might need doing to enable me to extinguish the airbag light.
Might be worth mentioning I have also installed a used leather interior too but there are no other faults showing on the reader.
Some help would really be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
As said by James B above, maybe the replacement airbag ecu was from a Cooper S (battery in boot) and has been programmed to look for the battery isolation link which is not fitted on your One, thereby registering a fault code?
Just had this problem with my 2002 MCS.
Fault code reset and recurred 20 miles later, eventually traced to water in the battery well in the boot, and damp obviously around terminals.
Now in the process of drying everything out and finding out where the water is coming from, then having the light reset again.
Water is never good on electrical connections, clean and reconnect. Seats replaced, recheck you'r connections. Sometimes if not push in right codes will pop.
