DIY Will an R53 Manifold fit my R50?

I was planning on selling my PS One R50 shortly but can't afford to upgrade to an S at this stage so need to decide on more mods! Ignore my (lack of) logic!

I've been thinking upgrading my manifold, will an R53 manifold fit perfectly? Will this add a lot of power? It's decat. If so, anyone got any idea how much? I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to stuff like this so any advice would be good!

Another query I have about a decat manifold, will it make a massive difference in sound? I understand it might pop and bang a little bit, but will it be a lot louder?

Thanks in advance!

A R53 manifold is the same manifold Olly.

However you would be better of spending your money on having a remap if you want to see a gain in top end power as on the One MINI limited the power by closing the throttle, limiting airflow and therefore power in the upper rpm range.

Thanks Paul, would the remap take it up to Cooper BHP? Is that literally the only difference? I've always thought it was but could be wrong.

So do you think (or know) that I'll get more for my money having a remap rather than upgrading manifold?

Cheers!

Yes Olly that is the only difference.

For sure it will be the best money you'll spend performance wise as long as someone hasn't already done it to your car

You have two ways to find out if its already had a remap, put it on a rolling road or drive a Cooper and then you should be able to tell the difference.
