Smile Tuning progress

Hi guys,
Just thought i'd post an update on how wilz is coming along (my 02 mini one). So far I have installed a bluefin superchip, pipercross cold air intake (had a post on that) and today I had a janspeed 4 to 1 manifold and decat fitted to the standard system. The janspeed definately adds more power at the higher revs and the throttle response is sharper. The decat is slightly noisey, it is by no means unbarable but it almost sounds like it's blowing.......raspy sound as opposed to the smooth standard note. Going through the gears it just pulls more freely. Also nice deep note when lifting off, spits and back fires slightly when giving some revs. Let the piggy bank build again and then hopefully a janspeed or piper cat back is next!

You might have to put a spacer in between the det cat & cat back and another gasket.

Hi, thanks for the post! Do you know where I could get a spacer to fit? It is a little annoying in normal driving.
Cheers!

Thanks Paul! Today was the first dry day that I could jack the car up and have a look. It turns out that the mechanic hadnt fitted the gasket joining the cat back to the decat properly, it was half out!! I could see blowing straight away. I had a spare gasket so fitted both gaskets and it has solved it! Smooth deep note and the standard cat back now back fires ! Cheers again,
Alan
