| Don't worry - it's really shiny and has plenty depth. It looks fantastic when it has been waxed. Stick with the solid black. | Yea...i think the black does look awesome - especially with the cooper chrome. My dad has a Cosmos Black M3 and to be honest, you cant tell its metallic. Think i will stick with my original choice and save myself nearly £300 as a result. GAJ, your car has restored my faith in solid black - i thought it was metallic! |

she thinks of her mini as a person you see minirichc.I aint moaning...was just concerned as my dad said about how it might be really flat....Also, no one on the forums says they have a 'gloss black' Mini they just say black - so you dunno if its met or standard....Anyhow - im CERTAIN ive made right choice after seeing GAJ's car. |

| chughes, take a look at my gallery for my solid black One. I prefer it over the Cosmos black and it has the advantage of being cheaper. It looks really neat when you've cleaned it. Yes, black does show up the dirt, but to be honest so do the other colours. I don't regret my choice for a second. |

| I had a solid black ONE as a courtesy car and thought it looked excellent. The chrome will look great on it. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a metallic black MINI or not. That's maybe a clue that it ain't worth the extra £250. Solid paint is easier to touch up if you get chips and if it ever needs any re-spray work done that will be easier to match as well. I say solid is the way to go. |

| Chris, think about when you re-sell it. Get a metallic colour. The solid black IMO looks too flat and does show up surface scratches very easily. Get Cosmos black and it will look good for much longer. MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

| Yea, im sticking with metallic black. Personally (just personally!) - i prefer the black to the silver, particularly with the chrome, which is why I went for what i did. I know silver is easier to keep clean etc.. But the effect of black and chrome is spot on. However, I certainly wouldnt refuse a silver car. Your right - the solid is the better option in every respect- i cant tell my dads cars a met black car and that prooves it isnt worth it. I am not worried about resale at all - MINI's are highly sought after cars anyway, and i realise that over-supply may lead to competition - but look at the bmw 3 series - loads on the roads, looks good in every colour IMO and has high residuals. |
