Hi All,
My wife's just purchased a 55 plate (06 registered) Mini One. 48k on the clock and she's having some issues with the rev counter.
First issue is that the trip computer button doesn't change the screen, its stuck on Trip 2 0.0, and this doesn't change no matter how many miles shes does. This is the button on the indicator stalk, the button on the Speedo works fine, and the miles count here fine.
Second issue is that the red line indicator back light doesn't light up on the rev counter. it lights up orange all the way to 6, then nothing.
Now i read some forums that recommended resetting the ECU, which i did following the guide, turn on holding trip reset button etc etc. This didn't make any difference. Also tried removing fuses to see if it would reset, no change.
So I thought well must be the rev counter is broken. So i bought a replacement rev counter and have just got back from fitting, no change at all. I took out the indicator stalk to check the wiring as I also read that the blue wiring can become damaged and cause an issue, this all looked intact as well, at both ends.
So now i'm stuck wondering what it might I'm thinking of replacing the indicator stalk to see what this does, but I also think this might be another problem as the red line back light doesn't work.
Any suggests as what might be causing this would be great.
thanks in advance!
