Mini ones seem to never go below £9000- trade it in- if you spend 5k on fancy bits- it may not add anything to the value, but if you spend it on an s it will be worth that extra 5k. Does that make sense? Otherwise keep it std and just chip it- wait a little longer for the s. Dont forget if there is a bmw software upgrade when its serviced you loose the 'chip'- BBR will redo it up to a year after, but check superchips offer the same service. S

i would spend the £5000 on aero kit £1100 18" or 19" alloys £1000-£1200 coilovers £400 ECU remapped to 130bhp £400 colour code arches £400 new exhaust £400 add possible 10bhp k+n typhoon £150 add anopther 5bhp I.C.E £1000would get you a tidy set up that's hpow i'd spend it ,not much point ikn getting the S as thje insurance will be a significant increase and sure you will have more oomph but you'll only have a bog standard S ,nice as they are i'dd rather the one with an aero-kit ,19s and 140bhp under the hood or alteritavly you could get your one chipped ,turbo'd and an exhaust for your 5 g's and have a little sleeper

Thats what I was thinking too, I'd have a totally unique and customised ONE whereas i'd just end up with regular s. Now im torn even more! But an S is soo inviting. IF i can get round the insurance, like fleet insurance or something, then id pick the S.

Well I could have had a standard S for the money I spent (and then a grand or so left over) but wanted to be even more of an individualist than just having a new MINI . . . . I know the 170bhp is tempting but I know I would have wrapped it round a tree by now and its fast enough for everyday driving as well as the occasional blast round the countryside - I just have to work the gears more than you do with the extra power of an S MINI One Convertible Hot Orange, Full Aero Kit, Heated Sports Seats, X-Lites, etc

I have at long long last managed to get insured on an S so my beloved little Cooper is going to be replaced (Actually quite upset in a weird sort of way) If you hunt around you can get a decent S for the money you are talking about i'm sure. Mine has already got the aero kit and full leather JCW seats, however i have got to wait a week till it arives and its already killing me!. If insurance allows it i would go for the S. If not then the aero kit, quality coilovers and JCW seats will provide endless fun when you throw your little beast into bends and frankly round abouts will never be the same again after coilovers have been fitted! Get off the runflats though! Chip it up to a cooper and beyond and Bob is your very new uncle, the car has been transformed! Should be some tidy change for a set of 18"s or some sort of lavish holiday................ better yet there should be enough left for tickets to follow England all the way to the final of the 2006 World Cup! (April 15th is the big day when i find out if my application has been successful) So either an S or body kit, coilovers, seats, chip and World Cup tickets!.................................. hmmmmmmm
