My suspension now? Is FSD possible

Cars on a 51 plate. The plate under the bonnet says Sept 01. Being a Cooper i guess it has Sport suspension but because it came with chili pack does that automatically mean its fitted with SS+. I really want to add FSD suspension but it says 03.02> is FSD an option i can or can it simply not be done.

EDITED: Sorry Koni FSD shocks....
Thanks

Whats FSD? I believe SS+ was std with the Chili pack back then whether you wanted it or not. It was only later that it became deletable with the CP.

Thumbs up

You can check the thickness of the front anti roll bar to see what suspension is fitted. If its 22.5mm thick it has SS, if its 24.0mm thick it has SS+. Hope this helps, regards Damian.

The Koni website indicates they're designed for MINIs built from March 2002 onward.

Suggest you verify this with one of the three UK contacts listed on the Koni website.

Ask Mini Mania, they sell them, and should know.

The answer appears to be no, the FSDs will not fit on a 2001 Cooper. See this thread on NAM, specifically post #4: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=60059

MINI changed the top mounts and position of the front anti-roll bar mounts on the dampers of 2002 onwards cars (coinciding with the Cooper S launch) because of complaints of some (not all) earlier cars pulling to one side.

There was no change to the actual bodywork of the 2002 cars, so if you buy the newer style front suspension top mounts and different length anti-roll bar drop links, you can use suspension kits designed for the 2002 onwards cars on an earlier car.

As an aside, around this time they also changed the position of the rear exhaust silencer box mounts on the Cooper/One, which annoyed the hell out of the aftermarket manufacturers!

So i could use my springs? How much would it cost to get the parts to fit them then? (exc the FSD's) Really want to fit these.
