Question 2nd gen suspension bolt into 1st gen

I have an r50 cooper 2004. My mate has just upgraded his suspension on his r56 and now has a set of dampers and springs that he doesnt need. The shocks in my r50 are in need of replacement. Anybody now if they will fit???????

Unfortunatley they wont, the back ones would if you fitted rear R56 trailing arms as well

Hmmm... would R53 dampers fit R56 rear arms then? How does this differ from the set up on the GP?

(apologies for slight hi-jack but I might be interested in the rear dampers)
