Problems fitting a JCW Strutbrace

I have just fitted a JCW strutbrace to my 2005 Cooper S.

I followed the original MINI instructions and it all went smoothly, until I went to close the bonnet !

The strutbrace fitted fine and sits tight to the bodywork and the airfilter housing.

I can close the bonnet if I apply some pressure but then it sits higher than it should.

I can remove the strutbrace or the under bonnet insulation but I don't want to do this, I would prefare to have it fitting properly.

Anyone any ideas whats gone wrong?

Try soaking the insulation with water. Make sure its completly soaked all the way through where the brace hits the insulation, then close the bonnet and leave it overnight.

The brace should mould into the insulation and bonnet should then sit shut correctly.
