United Kingdom
Scotland Front suspension mounts

Just carried out a number of repairs to get my daughter's mini one (02 plate, 79K miles) through its MOT. After 3 weekends I replaced the fuel tank strap (badly corroded), 4 brake lines, front discs and pads and top suspension mounts. I also had to replace the thermostat and fix a leak in the radiator. Now I know some of you will be saying why bother on such an old car, but I was feeling very chuffed with myself when I got the MOT!.

So. To the problem. Checking the rad level today after a couple of long runs and I noticed one of the suspension mounts looked a tad odd. Basically the passengers side looks correct and the same shape (concave) as it was when installed. The drivers side on the other hand looks compressed and "scrunched" up.

I have attached couple of photos. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I had that issue with my cooper when I got it.
I fitted new strut tower mounts and new shocks.i also invested in some strut plates, they go between the strut mount and the strut tower top.
I've had no mushrooming happen since I fitted these
