Are you sure that there is no rear anti-roll bar????? That just seems strance to me, take a real close look. With a strong light shining on and under the rear end and with one of the wheels off it should look something like this, see photo. The black bar that appears to be detached is one end of the sway bar, rear anti-roll. I know that on the Cooper the sway bar is 16mm and the SSP sway bar is 17mm. It is easy to do, just takes a little while. Let us know if your ONE does not have any type of rear sway bar, I really believe that it must. | Yes the standard One does NOT have a rear sway bar. I am very frustrated with it too. The BMW sales man never told me this. I figured this out after I had ordered mine. I'm looking at the same problem here. There seems to be an adjustable swaybar including the vertical bars. The only thing we have to know is that: are there any holes in the rear train to mount the sway bar on? Another thing missing will be the bolts that tighten the sway-bar. I have seen this adjustable sway bar at Mini Spares or at the American version of it Mini Minia. It cost about 250 us dollars. I am very curious too about this...... Another thing it too lower the car which also will prevent the car roll. But this is not as comfertable. What to do What to do? r -- Mini One -- Black/Chrome |

| One added with rear sway bar from Cooper I have just been to the BMW dealer talking about my problem with my Mini One and having no rear sway bar. They will add a Cooper rear sway bar to my Mini One which I have made an appointment for. Im very happy with this and I will tell you the driving expericience before and after adding a Cooper sway bar to the One. r -- Mini One -- Black/Chrome |

| The one doesn't have a rear ARB, that's correct, the springs and dampers were increased to compensate. By fitting a bar and doing no other mods you will find the rear roll stiffness increases and will cause the car to oversteer. By fitting just the bar you are upsetting the balance. I can't believe that a dealer would just fit it, if MINI found out they would be in trouble (although I will be surprised if it fits as originally the rear subframe was different, but that may have changed in the last few years). |
