Red Cooper The BEST lowering kit for MINI Cooper S!

Hi!

I have a '02 model Cooper S with the original springs, I want to buy a lowering kit for it..

-what is the best set I can buy?

I want it to look better and to get MORE sporty!

got my mcs lowered with eibachs last week and it's a definate improvement in handling and ride (except over pot holes etc) and of course it looks better too.

spoke to a few companies prior to gettin them and they all recomended the eibachs

I know from motorsport experience, Eibachs are the daddy.

If you do a search in the performance forum I'm sure you'll find more information than you need on this subject. It's been discussed a few times.

I talked with the Eibach importer in Norway now,
they could only deliver springs, is it usual to use the original shock absorbers or do you f.ex buy a set of Koni?

Any set of lowering spring use the Stock shock which are just fine. If you want the extra adjustablity to fine tune the shocks to your liking then yes I would go for a aftermarket set. Also if changing shocks might as well as go for a complete coil over kit so you can get the height and adjustablity your looking for. For me im currently using the Racing Dynamics Spring set. Which i perfer over the Eibach and Yes ive driven the car with both Sets. Opinion of which set is better is just that a person's opinion of what they like and is not necessarly suited for the next person.

How do the Eibach's seem to be holding up with the OEM shocks? Are the shocks giving up the fight at all (i.e becoming more "bouncy" or less controlable)?

I'd love to get a set of eibachs, but I'm worried about the ride being even firmer than it is already (got the pirelli runflats, and while bumps arent a complete nightmare, you can certainly feel them.) would a set of eibach springs not make the bumps even worse?
