Drilling holes or removing plates??? (ALTA CAI)

Sorry to ask yet another ALTA CAI question, but my CAI will arrive in Japan tomorrow and I need to know one more thing before I install...

I did a seach and found this thread:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...ght=ALTA+drill

The ALTA uses air from the vent near the wipers, right? Well, this thread makes it sound like the entire piece between the airbox and the vent is removed... If it wasn't I imagine it would need to be drilled, right?

So... Can anybody set me straight??? By the way... I have a 2005 MCS.

(Better yet, is there a good PDF or thread with installation instructions or pics???)

Oh, that's just what I needed... Thanks!

Now, final question... Will the Alta CAI fit a right hand drive (England / Japan) Mini Cooper S? The pictures in the tutorial show different placement for some parts as opposed to my car...

Well, there are a number installed by members in the UK. Engine components are in the same location so there really isn't a difference.

minigolf, who's picture I borrowed is in OZ and it's an RHD car
