Just got a full kit from Pro MINI in the USA. I note they are made in the UK and you can go to www.powerflex.co.uk to see them. Guaranteed 28 HP at the wheels I am told

Yes we have got a full set on our Cooper S, changed pretty much all of them for the Powerflex ones, except for the ones on the anti-roll bars where we have used the ones that are supplied by Eibach.

If anything it wont be the bushes in the mounts that will let go, it will be the mounts themselves or the joint to the chassis. The bushed shoften the vibrations rather than carry the load as such.

I'd say that is an optimistic figure!! Changing the bushes in the engine mount helps to transfer more torque to the drivetrain as they elimanate flex, but that much!!! I don't think so....

Some recomend that the engine mount bushing is not suitable for street use as it will produce some vibrations at idle.. any comment? I'm planning to get the powerflex bushing but I'm concern about the vibration. Please advise... TQ

Hi,

Well not really, the actual gain in any performance is very small, as they improve torque transmission rather than any actual power figure. Also you may find car gains a bit in responsiveness, as the engine doesnt twist as much.

My only recommendation that you dont go for anything that is too hard as it will start to vibrate a lot. Use a company that makes bushes for a living (like Powerflex and etc) as they will get them right. You also dont have to change all the bushes, just the ones that control the movement of the engine.

It all depends on wht you are trying to acheive, as to how beneficial they are.

Andrey,

Thank you for answering my doubts. You mentioned that i should get the bush that control the movement of the engine. So, just the top(large) or do i need to get the bottom(small) as well?

Thank you.
