JCW manifold or any manifold?

I'm on my 2nd JCW 210 now, first a 2003 now a 2005, the latter of which seems more responsive down the bottom end and to be honest quicker, but I would say that wouldn't I!

Has anyone with a 2005 210 had the JCW mainfold fitted or any other make manifold and does it make much difference in power? I should it imagine it sounds a bit more gutsy, as it probably improves the breathing. I know the race series JCW use the manifold and if I'm right one of the salemen at JCG has a 210 with just a manifold change that is supposed to produce about 225 but is that really noticable on every day roads?

of all the JCW mods that i'd get, the manifold would be the highest. I've heard good things about it. How much does it cost in the UK? (we can't get it here, , have to get it shipped)

I've been told the Miltek is the one to get. It is meant to be better built as well as cheaper.

Yep

TBH though I haven't seen a single dyno map that did more than 5-6HP. Most of that over 4500 RPMs.

I own an '02 MCS with 210 or so HP. The newer MCS pulls just as hard early. The new lower gearing makes a nice difference.

From JCG. I think if you got to their website it is in their motorsport section.

It's not BMW approved like the JCW kit mind and it ain't cheap either.

People on this site have bought them for their S, so it would seem anyone with the cash can buy one.

But I have been told from a reliable source who compared the two that the Milltek was better built. It is also much cheaper.

I have a Milltek on my Works car (an 03) Lovely build quality, lovely sound

No good if you want to put a tuning map on the car such as MTH as the two aren't compatible for some reason.....

And, I wouldn't expect huge horsepower gains either, I can't say it made any discernible difference to mine other than made it sound the way a JCW should sound....

In fact at a Rolling Road we went to last year, my '210' got nowhere near 210, and that was with the manifold allegedly adding 4-6hp.... Then again, non of the Works cars did manage over 200

So dont think about figures, think about sound quality, think about quality...

From memory the manifold has never been listed on the JCW site...

I spoke to JCW about it when they installed my 10hp upgrade, and it was over a grand then about 12 months ago Sounds very meaty, but very expensive, seeing as there is no warranty included.. give JCW a call and speak to them about it....
