17% Pulley question

Well if my motor is bone stock and i want to add a pulley to boost more, will the 17% blow my motor up? Which would you recommend (15% or 17%)

And the pulley is a ALTA.

You'll be fine. It'd be better in combination with an ECU upgrade.
A 15% works very well also.

It'd run fine. At least that's what the research shows.
