GTT and Alta seem to be the 2 big ones that people choose, other than JCW (which is nothing like as good as the GTT and Alta ones, or so I'm told). Alta is very colourful red filter and either blue black or red pipes. GTT is blue filter and Blue heat sheild?? Not sure of prices but check www.lohen.co.uk for the Alta and www.gttuning.com ? for the GTT one R

Nothing much My standard (apart from CAI) MCS came out with a dyno reading of 193bhp when Works 210's were reading 197!! Roland agreed it wasn't all down to the CAI (altho it would have been a good claim for him). Probably more the case of dyno not being accurate somehow (that's a whole topic on its own) and that the engine was producing more than standard to start with. Whatever, it doesn't detract from the fact that I think Roland's CAI is far better than any other on the market. The engineering and finish are superb. Roland will be able to give the spec far better than me, but like all his kit, it's quality thro and thro. Cheers

Here is a pic of the GTT Cold Ram Induction kit dismantled. You can see the internal Rampipe with 360 degree rolled edge. This is machined from solid bar,its the only way to get the full rolled edge not just a rolled back lip . (no one else does this, except maybe for one off race applications for people with endless budgets ) The system also has a twin layer anodised aluminium heatshield ,which you cant see so well in the pic. (Alta is all single layer plastic) . We did flow bench an Alta unit against ours (actually it was the GTT one for the Renault 5 which is almost identical) and the GTT flowed a fair bit more. This is to be expected as it has optimum rampipe design of which the entrance to it is sited 'well out' into the airbox.(also very important). During design we incorporated what we had learnt during flow bench testing/development of Rampipe design for 34mm turbo restrictors required for MSA tarmac rally regs. Im also hoping to get hold of another Alta to continue our tests on M2 by measuring pressure drop through as many induction kits as possible. FAS Yes it would be tempting to add to our website that your '163bhp MCS +GTT Cold Ram kit (with no other mods) achieved 197 bhp ,a gain of 34bhp !!! . Every car we fit these to gains real power which you will feel. This is rare in itself with any make of car or filter. Best Regards Roland GT Tuning

I think I gotta get me a GTT kit- anybody any engine bay pics of one fitted? (Also, is fitting fool proof? and on GTT site mentions "For maximum performance potential a neat and tidy 2 inch diameter hole should be made in the 'plastic divider' between the scuttle area and engine bay (or the panel removed"- what does this refer to? CHEERS!

Have to agree with the other GTT posts, the induction wail sounds superb. If you fancy a laugh try the following. Lift the bonnet gently raise the revs to around 3K and then blip the throttle with people looking at the engine they step back in shock at the noise, it's a good talking point. Roland, no G T Tuning sticker on my induction kit so I am disappointed (just kidding). Alan. |

Hi Guys, thanks for the support. There is a pic on our website 'on the car',just click on our web link at the bottom of this post. Stickers now in stock! (sorry Alan theres 10 waiting for you next time your down ),Regarding the holes, for maximum performance we recommend you create an airway between the base of the windscreen 'scuttle area' and the air filter compartment. The panel is plastic and easily removable. You can either (A) remove it, or (B) put 2 neat 2" diameter holes in it (we use a holesaw),or (C) put a series of (say) 6 x1" holes in it. The way we do it if you ever put the stock airbox lid on (servicing/warranty etc) the 2 holes are fairly well obscured by the lid Regards Roland Gt Tuning
