DIY question about pulley reduction

hi,
I'm thinking of getting a 19% pulley reduction on my MCS '05, which, until now is completely stock.
my question about it is wether i need to do something else to the car, like an ECU remap? or other parts as well? or can i just do that and leave the rest of the car alone?, I've never done anything like this to a car in my life, so I'm really lost in this subject...

How wide is the hall-way, Napster?

no you don't need to do anything at all, just add a shorter belt instead of the original.

You well get the full benefits of the added boost with a remap and bigger injectors

Sorry Elie but you missed something......Make sure that you install colder spark plugs or you may get pre detonation which will wreck a cylinder if it happens. There are plenty of threads on Mini2 which cover this.

ah yes, but this is a topic of much heated debate. If you were to get a bad batch of fuel, and your knock-sensor fails to work, you might blow a spark plug if you have stock plugs, but if you pre-detonate while you have colder plugs, yes you'll save a $20 spark plug, but you might damage your cylinder. Some tuners in america actually recommend that you don't fit colder plugs.

That all said, i'm no mechanic, and we don't get fuel that's that bad over in aus, and i run a 17% pulley with colder densos, but i have run it on stock plugs as well, and noticed no difference, ran perfectly with both.

BTW where have you been richard? Haven't seen you on here for a while
