What is this tube for ????

While cleaning the engine compartment, I notice this tube/hose was very loose and came off without even pulling hard. There is no hose clip. This is on a MCS. Questions :

1) What is this ?
2) Should it be tightly connected ?

Cheers

no worries. happy to help. and like everyone said doesn't matter as long as it is attached. usualy most hoses have a clip just to hold it a bit tighter.

The lower tube is the fuel line.

I see that this is an early model; if the hose on the PCV is pliable enough to remove easily it may need to be replaced. Exposure to oil vapor and engine heat can soften the rubber causing it to collapse under vacuum (if there is a good seal to begin with). If this is the case it will make an elephant noise when you let off the accelerator. The later vent hose is made of harder rubber than 03 & earlier.

mine was replaced under warranty at the dealership. meaning the hose along with the PCV valve. there may be a service bulletin on this actually you should all check with your dealers.
