just wondered if i could get some help, noticed my car was making a strange noise when changing gears (wud think wind was blowing thru the bonnet) took it to the local garage just to check it out and he took it a test run , he thinks its the gearbox, luckily my car is still under warranty, but cannot get the car thru to mini for another week, iam getting quite nervous about driving the car and considered calling mini emergency service. i have spoken to some other people and they have said it could be the clutch release bearing, if any 1 could help or give me some info on experiences with a similar problem pleae post a reply . thanks alot
I was driving my mini cooper s last Sunday, on the way out from the parking space i got in to first gear with clutch down, it made a funny noise like the clutch was not down. After that I cannot access the 1st gear, is like there is something blocking it.
I took it in to a garage today, and they quote me £600-£700 for taking it out (internal) and have a look at it, before that they cant tell me what wrong.
Can anyone give me some advice? just run out off warranty.
i have a similar noise, went to mini, they said it was usual to hear a spinny noise beneath the gear stick as the synchronisation is different to many other cars, but they saud it will wear off, had bout 2 onths, hasnt got worse so not bothered.
when my one had a new gearbox and clutch i had the same problem, but with 3rd, like the clutch is not down and the gear will not engage it feels like its hitting something? dont know what it was (not into gearboxes!)
