I'm booked in with West Tuning again!!!

Took the afternoon off, and went to see Ray at West Tuning . There were some lovely cars waiting to be tuned by Ray,a couple of Porsche, Audi’s, and a new style M3 just to name a few! He now has a new 4 wheel drive rolling road in a newly built building, looked very impressive set up indeed.

Had a nice chat discussing the next move regarding my cars performance, so it’s now booked in at the end of July – can’t wait!!!!!

This will at least give me time to get some new up rated brakes and suspension….

There was a blue Mini Cooper S there having big power, anyone knew who’s car it is? Looked very nice…..

Graham

Graham,

What are you going for mate?

I too are changing my engine quite dramatically, going for different pistons with a different pin offset and rings, balanced bottom end and a number of other things to hold it all together!

Want to build a very strong motor to except a turbo next year, do you fancy having another RR sesion nearer the end of the year when our cars are done?

I've asked Ray, to give me as much reliable power as he can. He gave me a lot of insight on how far you can go with a standard supercharger

Roll on July

I called Ray about there stage 1 kit, costs over a grand with vat and fitting couldn't work out why he charges so much more than GTT and Lohen for basically the same kit apart from being closer to the south east!!!!

Shame really

Jaffa Racer, yes my car will be around 260bhp

td2, Yes Ray can be more expensive, and obviously price does come into it, however, my car will be live mapped as before, which I think on car's with high power is very important

I do agree with graham on the live mapping side of things, but the quality of the GTT parts are of better quality,i.e does ray use a interference fit pulley or change the idlergears for wider twin bearing ones? chack the bpv etc etc?

I went with GTT for my 260 pack and then got a very good tuner to live map the car on the dyno, still worked out cheaper with all GTT parts and i know its actually making a true power reading 255bhp.

So its really up to what you want and what you expect....i would say visit both and make your own mind up, whatever you decide will always be better than stock!

Its GTT for me!

But i do agree with live mapping, how do a tuner 2000 miles away know whats going on under that bonnett?

Hi Ricky,

Yes Ray manufactures his own pulleys which are interference fit, he doesn't get someone else to make them.

Look forward to seeing you Sunday

Graham
