Your looking at £4750 inc VAT for a fitted kit giving a claimed 240+bhp. That seems like reasonable value to me, GTT 240 kit is £4750+VAT. The only question is what is the quality of the kit and fitting and what sort of warranty do you get on the kit?
In short, who are MED engineering and are they a reputable tuning company? It's a bit like the people who go to JCW, reputation is more important than price.
MED Engineering is one of the top, if not the top tuner in the UK for the classic mini A series engine/gearbox. They've been established for 25 years. ALL their cylinder heads are ground/machined by them selves, and not done by another company on their behalf.
I went to these guys 5 years ago for an engine/gearbox for my classic mini Cooper S, now developing nearly 100 bhp at the wheels!!!, and this car is used everyday, plus track days, sprints etc, with touch wood no problems at all.
They're a company who don't advertise much, but always seem to be very busy, as they work off their reputation .
Give Steve or Lee a ring, they're answer any questions you have...
MED always had a good reputation on the classic scene, the guy who built my engines rated them very highly too. And they sponsor MINI2, so they've obviously got their heads screwed on right.
Sorry about that Roland, I can't even see where I got that price from now . Must have had too much sun.
I think I intended to compare it to the GTT250+ conversion, because of the head and cam change, but I still got the price wrong anyway!!!
