I'm looking at getting a 15% reduction pulley and came acroos the Ultrik 15%
reduction pulley, does anybody have any experiance or feedback on these pulleys.
The cost is £117 and comes with a reduced size belt aswell, there's also the option
of hiring the pulley puller, which is a bonus, not having to pay for a tool i'll only use
once.
Any comments on the Ultik much appreciated.
cheers all

We have sold /fitted plenty of these and have yet to hear of a problem,it is reccommended to replace the plugs to 1 step cooler if the pulley is replaced, fitting instructions are on the website ,but they are not too hard to fit,we have found premature supercharger failures when using smaller pulleys than 15% as they tend to put the charger out of its limits. To go beyond the boost of a 15% pulley a better charger is required and this in progress
There is no point in me being bias as I am free to retail any products I choose , I chose not to offer a greater than 15% pulley due to failures and the fact we warranty the goods we sell,I chose to offer the NGK plugs , I could sell Denso plugs,or any other but I have had tip failures in the past so do not.One of the problems of asking about feedback from members on here is indeed bias and overstatement, it is difficult for someone who has spent his/her hard earned on products to admit they might not be all that ,and when comparing pre and post modification, it is only on their car,we are lucky that we get to drive many cars ,and can compare shock set ups or clutches,or brakes etc. We sell strut braces but if you ask me if they are worth it I would say no,by far the improvement in handling is done at the rear end with an anti roll bar upgrade.
If someone was to follow the advice of an individual on the forum and it all went horribly wrong with say engine failure, what is their comeback? they would not be best pleased with "well it worked ok on mine" . Some members do indeed have a lot of knowledge with the Mini and their advice should be heeded but tempered with the various climate, roads, driving style, car use,etc that they encounter.
I agree with what you are saying there [Sorry, whats your name? I like to talk to people a bit more "personally", even on forums], and I suppose I did not get my point across effectively.
I disagree with the claims you made on having premature supercharger failure using a smaller than 15% pulley; as well as the claims the the stock charger cannot take the boost of a smaller pulley. For someone who is not "Mini modding" oriented, I understand this, as you are basically fitting a JCW pulley (size wise) you will have no problems at all; but for a greater number of people here who are quite into the Mini modifcaitions the 16/17% pullies are very safe, and the way you said it seemed very much to be saying "Put one on, and it'll damage it straight away", and seemed to be trying to drum up support for a new product you'll be releasing (Ported charger?).
Not trying to argue here, just trying to make sure that people don't get any mis-information.
On a side, unrelated note; to get your sig to work, open the image up, right hand mouse click on it and "Save image as", pick somewhere on your desktop etc and save it. Then open up your Mini2 Gallery, and click "upload images", and select the pic on your desktop. Once you've got it in your gallery, you'll be able to put it in your sig as a picture.
thanks for all the input guys, very useful, blown my budget on an exhaust this month for the car, so hopefully next month should be getting the pulley.
Is the pulley something any decent garage should be able to fit or do i need to take it to
a beemer garage
