| The temp underbonnet varies around the engine bay and if the car is stationary ,one of the hottest areas is over the exhaust manifold by the water tank which can get to well over 100 degrees c ,despite the heatshields,I have some engine bay temps somewhere I shall have a look for you . that is why we wrap the manifold which reduces the temp above it and sends more heat down the pipes ,and put extra temp blanket on the heatshields |

| True the ceramic cats dont like the extra heat, the metal ones cope better, I run without a cat so not a problem, but any cat is not going to last forever, it depends on what you are using your car for and how hard you run it. it also helps to have an exhaust system that flows more freely to move the heat faster /further down the system |
