Reconditioned Gear box

My gear box has gone on my mini one , a new one will cost me £1400, does anyone know of where i can get a reconditioned one as i do not wish to spend that amount on a gear box!! Please help!

My second gearbox has a bit of syncromesh issues going hard from 1st gear into second, and is out of warranty so it's makes no sense to install another standard Midlands.I am led to believe that Minimania has solved the problem and will probably go that direction when the time comes.What's a good clutch replacement for the One/Cooper but not compromizing day to day driveability? you might as well if you have the transmission out.Thanks in advance

The number of broken gearboxes we have all heard about leads me to suspect there is a mountain of them somewhere - ready for reconditioning.

Have ordered the uprated one from minimania.

There goes my budget for my respray . Was looking forward to a coat in Carbon Black.

Next year....
