Best panel filter?

What is the best aftermarket panel filter to go for on the Mini Cooper? I've gone with K&N on my previous cars, which seemed to produce nice enough results for the money. Is a K&N panel filter the way to go with the Cooper? Or a Pipercross? Or another manufacturer?

I'd imagine they free up an extra 1-2bhp?

Don't complicate and use the first one. K&N is a good choice.

TBH they will probably work just as good as each other IMO ther are confined to the same box as the standard filter! so will work just as good but will be better than the standard 1 !

For a panel filter on the MCS use any of the cotton gauze type eg. K&N, JR , or Green. The reticulated foam types cause more restriction as they start to get dirty, and as the MCS has the world record for achieving the most 'caked cruded & generally heaving ' filter in the shortest possible time ,it is all the more important. We stock the 'Green' panel filter, but all 3 mentioned are good ,each manufacturer just uses a different colour oil.
Best Regards Roland GTT

It's for use on a Mini Cooper, not a Cooper-S. I read somewhere that the Pipercross panel filter is what JCW supply? If so, I'll probably go for that one.
