Remap? I need it? Lean mixture?

Hello to all.

It is necessary to get a remap if I have:

- 19% pulley
- no cat
- supersprint header
- oneball exhaust
- SCHRICK cam 264/272
- K&N panel filter
- 63 throttle body
- water to air intercooler
- Denso Iridium IK22 spark plugs
- JCW injectors

Thanks for answers.

Not nessesarily ... but you will certainly need to go to a rolling road that can put sensors on it to check fuel/air mix through the rev range to ensure your not leaning out.

The chances are you'll need some tweeking though but as GTT have proved even a 260 + car can run on a stock S map (or a JCW map) if the right injectors are used. however it is a bit luck of the draw

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!

The question would be "is it worth the risk"? Personally I don't think the stock ECU has that great of a tollerance window to allow those mods to perform well. Heck, if anything, the gains he would get from a remap would make it worth it anyway. That would be a risk I would not be willing to take.

In the future I am going to get a piggyback. But this mods will be added to a car step by step.
I do not like to rechange piggyback computer for every mod. I will do it that on the end for everything together. So my question is not is it worth to get a remap but is it neccesary to not be to lean with mixture.

You need to have A/F readings done on your MINI and base your decision on those.

If your in UK consider using 1320autos rolling road and sensor set-up. Superchips are also good to get the cars mapped checked for AF readings. Like I said its possible for the car with 90% of those mods to run a standard map if the injectors are big enough to stop it leaning out. It might not develop the maximum power the mods are capable of without a map but will more than likely run with damage on these mods;

19% pulley
- no cat
- supersprint header
- oneball exhaust
- K&N panel filter
- Denso Iridium IK22 spark plugs
- JCW injectors

The cam and throttlebody and intercooler changes (your going for a totally different charge cooling system than a replacement bigger IC) might be the things that throw it out. Don't forget to do the injectors when you go for the big reduction pulley to make sure it won't lean out....the use of a panel filte rmight help as the car will not be able to rip loads of air in.

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!
