Cooper S component pickings for MINI One lump. Afternoon all,
I was wondering if anyone knew what (if any) parts could be taken from the cooper s engine to modify the ONE/Cooper Engine with a positive effect.
I know the gearbox can be used and that the exhaust system can be modified to a one box system and fitted to the ONE/Cooper but can others such as injectors or the head.
Also has anyone done this already?
Nearly forgot, my car is a Jul-2002 MINI ONE and have already fitted an induction kit and get a remap this weekend.
Cheers
Steve

I think you've just posted on the wrong thread there........
as for info on this one im not sure really... the injectors should fit.
Im not really sure on the rest but it would be interesting and i wonder why people havent thought of this already.

Being a bit negative before a true answer i would say that not many parts can be used as the availability of Cooper S parts on Ebay, people would have done this already!

I know mate - i'm probably spitballing but Steve at Robertshaw Racing reckoned it was worth a question when I ran it past him. Think I'm just used to the way of tuning classic Mini's if i'm honest; bigger carb and a head off the next model up was always the way to go with an A-series.

You know, I haven't gotten a Cooper beside my S yet to actually take a look and make any comparisons. I would imagine that the engine is pretty much the same minus the SC, so I would think that quite a bit would fit. The downside is that the body and wiring is different on the S and that could pose a problem for some bits.
I would be willing to be that Rolland or 1320Autos would know....

If you're after S injectors Steve, I've got a set that have only done 11000 miles.
(I couldn't say whether they'd defo fit your One though).
