Whoa whoa whoa!!!!!, I never said it was because of my GTT220 conversion i was getting the yo yo effect. i'm not that sily, i'd never liable any firm on a public forum, even if it was true. I merely stated that i had noticed the Yo Yo effect since it had been doen, could be coincidental could be due to extra power as remember if your engine has weaknesses then uping the power will magnify them even more, so could haveb been there before. or culd have just started the day after i got home, whatever. Theres enough peole on here who have had the GTT220 done without even a whisper of a problem. In gact i don't think Al ever commented in his review abotut Yo Yo effect etc until recently.
But i am pretty confident that when i pop down to Dorset ( god i hate that place....) to see Roland and let him have a look, he will sort it out some how as he seems to be true to his word ( plus i am twice the size of Roland so he better sort it GGGrrrrrrrr!!!!!).
I will continue driving mine for now until i get down to Rolands on my return from Le Mans and guess what i'll probably spend another £500. Also this Yo You effec, its not kangarooing all over the place, its a gentle pulse when going slowly through the rev range, but definately there, but cane it and i feel nought.
Also bear in mind something else, if you are really reallly worried about tuning your car, then maybe you are best advised not to. As no matter how good any tuner is, how much they guarantee thir work, how many happy customers there have been in the past, whenver you take the car to be tuned you run the risk of problems, whether it be a £1000 GTT220 conversion or the £40,000 engine conversion AMD used to do for the Audi TT. There is always a risk, that something could go wrong. That is the idea of tuning, you up the power beyond what it was initally designed to be. And yes all the packages are tested, ie Roland does thousands of miles testing Lohen doo the same and so i am sure do many others. but sum it up with BMW spent millions testing the normal car, they used race drivers, they used wind tunnels they used computers and they used specialist tracks. But millions of pounds on, the car still breaks down. So i sum up with nothing is infalable, be it GTT , be it Lohen, Be it BMW themselves. Shiit happens andthats that. Minis Break
So do yourself a favour, go get the conversion done now whilst you can still Drive your car properly on the roads, cos give it a year or so and Big brother will stop it alll. or worse still you may have kids then theres no chance of doing it.
Oh and yeah mine was broke again, i have just spent the last 3 hours out the front, remving my driveshaft to change the inner boot on it and change the front discs and pads and then to sort the wonky bonnet once and for alll. And i am sure there will be a problem next week.
Oh and just one other thing, saturday night i absoloutely killed a saphire cossie, even the cossie driver pulled up later on to say WOW, thats quick, has it got a TT engine in it. I know, even i had to think twice, was'nt till the following day that my bruv worked out that the cossie drivr must have seen the GTT badge on the back and wrongly assumed TT.
.....The split CV gaiter spuing grease out everywhere ion Ants car s a classic example of faults we spotted on a car that dealers couldnt see . This is all included in the service we give . btw I may be getting on a little but did white collar boxing for 5 years gggggggggrrrrrrr, no Bruce Lee but I can handle myself. too busy designing GTT parts now.!
BMW/Mini are way from perfect, there are hundreds of threads going back to 2002! on stumble/yo-yo/surge etc with thousands of posts on it. We do not have a wonder cure for it ,we can only ensure everything on the car is as it should be.
Best Regards Roland GTT
