Yeah, the stock one is black... I'd say Minipetrolhead is going for the stealth look.

Most replacements appear to be silver. The alta v2 is black but has red lettering/logo on the end

The red lettering is a sticker and when i got mine fitted the mechanic diddnt put it on so it just looks plain black At the moment.

i.e which service because i was wanting the alta v2 as if you dont put the wee end cap on it looks stock so i could still have my mini serviced under TLC without any problems?????

p.s dont want to go too overboard so was thinking the 17% one

A note on the TLC,

As far as im aware the TLC is paid for by the first owner of the car when they buy it, so to that end the dealer should service the car no matter what modifications are done to it.

Its when you take the car in with warrenty problems that they may not fix them.

Scotty is right. I don't think that your TLC will be affected but if you have issues with the engine and they see the pulley they may (very possibly) void your warranty. It is a risk you take with modding. Also, you need to inform your insurance company as they may not cover you if you are in an accident.

the whole idea it to keep the car as stock as possible while just giving it that little edge

so was thinking jcw airbox and a 17% pulley from alta as its the most stock looking one was just concerened with the whole idea of turing up at the dealer and them going to change the belt and finding it doesnt fit

so i take then that the belt isnt changed as part of any service???

You could take your own belt for them to put on. They will know that you have a different pulley the minuet that they see it.

Any reason that you are going 17%? I know that you can get more juice out of it, but you may also give yourself some minor problems without a proper tune.

Guys,
Your are wrong on TLC..... here is the copy of the TLC contract..... SEE POINT 5
TLC is invalid with a smaller pulley...... however many dealers chose to turn a blind eye....

1 MINI tlc must be bought and paid for within 30 days of taking delivery of a new MINI from any MINI dealer in the UK.

2 MINI tlc covers the cost of the parts, lubricants and labour involved in all MINI servicing for 5 years / 50,000 miles, whichever milestone is reached first. It does not cover repair and maintenance items, such as tyres, brake pads etc. If in doubt, ask your MINI dealer for clarification.

3 Servicing must be carried out at a MINI approved dealership by MINI technicians as specified in the Owners Manual.

4 Servicing conducted under MINI tlc must be carried out in line with the Manufacturer's time and mileage recommendations.

5 Any form of tuning or performance enhancement that is not MINI approved invalidates the MINI tlc agreement.

6 MINI tlc can be made available for non-UK sourced cars, but not at the special £150 inclusive of VAT offer price. Ask your MINI dealer for a quotation. MINI tlc is only available on standard UK specification MINIs.

7 Additional services not covered by the vouchers in a MINI tlc book are not included in the MINI tlc package. Manufacturer guidelines are subject to change.

8 MINI tlc is transferable to subsequent owners of the car but not transferable to another car. Manufacturer's servicing guidelines are subject to change.

9 MINI UK reserve the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time.

Cheers

Perm

My local Mini dealer fitted mine & was so impressed by the build of the Alta V2 that he wanted details about it.
We dont have TLC over here so it's not an issue but I had similar problems with Subaru when i had my STI.

DaFlake there is no real reason i am going for the 17% one just thought 15% is a bit much and 19% a bit wee

this is the first car that ive owned / tuned with a supercharger

previous car history bmw e46 330ci m sport - alfa romeo 145 2.0t cloverleaf - volvo s60 2.0t etc etc so im new to the supercharger game........

my plans are
reduced pulley
jcw airbox with upgraded filter and electric flap removed
gtt reroute pipe for exhaust
all 3 gtt front strut braces
etc etc

any advice you can offer would be gratefully welcomed

My only concern with a 17% is that it seems to border on what is needed to smooth it out from engine to engine. I have seen some guys that can run it with no problems and I have seen others that need the remap to get rid of faults. Some tuners will argue with this, but I think that a 17% pushes the stock ECU a bit to much.

Nope, it is actually in my sig. I have a 15% MINI-Madness pulley with CAI and an MTH remap.

I have installed 17% pulleys and the guys that have them love them. Only one has complained about the engine light coming on and a remap cured it.

ok call me stupid if you want but i just want to clarify that the 15 % pulley produces the smallest power improvement and the 19% produces the largest

i.e 15% runs fine
17% runs ok but may require remap
19% needs remap
???????????????

p.s thank you very much for the help
