Its a "cat back" system so its not the exhaust manifold. Its the exhaust system from the catalytic converter all the way back to the tail pipe at the back of the car, so there is not a cat on this system.

To change the cat you will have to change the exhaust manifold.

Alex

Any images of the system Paul? Is it a single can/pip or a twin can/pipe like the old borla sport systems

Borla Performance Industries - Products

We have the Cooper system on ours and it hasn't hurt performance at all, though I'm not sure if it will clear the S battery box at the moment.

I have both versions of the Borla cat-back exhaust (I have 2 Cooper S's, in the US and in the UK), and I prefer the non-Sport version.

Non-sport: Nice popping sounds and note during spirited driving, but quiet during highway cruising.

Sport: Very nice popping and great note, but it never goes away, even on the highway cruising in 6th gear. Gets annoying after listening to it for hours, especially if you have a sun-roof. But, very fun when driving around town for short trips.

This is the sport version on a wet day on a cold start:

My preference is the Non-Sport version.
