More HP for my Cooper S

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before as I'm new to this forum.

Anyway is there anywhere in Kent that I can take my Cooper S to be modified i.e. more hp....

Thanks

GTT are within easy travel of you IMO...worth the little bit of a trip. Some people come from as far as Scotland to have Rolands kit fitted!

TBH any good garage can fit the stuff if you buy it from Lohen, GTT or others.

I'd suggest a 15/17% reduced pulley (including the colder irridium sparks and reduced belt) plus a Alta or GTT cold air intake and a milltek/janspeed/GTT manifold with GTT reroute pipe or exhaust.

Then think about intercoolers and other stuff depending on your budget.

The CAI and the exhaust stuff is simple for a mechanic. The pulley is a bit more technical as you need the right tool but i'm sure someone in Kent from MINI2 will have one

We're roughly 2 hours away from Sandwich in Kent if there are no traffic delays.

apparently there is a place in sittingbourne where i live. My mate who works on the industrial estate says there is a mini specialist near him. they have some super sonic Cooper running up and down he said, rumours are its a 1.8T VAG engine in it. I am doing some investigating on who they are as seem to be new

Is the place?

modnmini.com

They have a article on their MINI One in Performance Tuner this month.

Website is not up too much at the moment.

I live in Kent and drove to GTT (Dorset)

Unfortunately it seems that the One map must of been back in the car as thats is nearly exactlywhat we run with our One 18.18 1/4 mile, we then put a Cooper ecu in it and run a 16.62 which is still the record at the British Mini Showdown.

Most Coopers will run mid to late 16s definitely not 18s

the review thqt my mates girlfriend done is in this months Modern Mini Magazine. i have been down to see the guy and seems to know his stuff. His background is in the Remap business and has been doing cars for quite a while, so he has experience

yes i called on chap at modnmini re a remap on my S,was going there until a mate of mine was as a mapping sesion we his Fiat mates at GSR at watford and now i'm calling them as they don't just map but dyno b4 and after.

he is sending me details as car was modden 220bhp but put down 209bhp and was pinking and lean even with works injectors

then remapped 228bhp with more to come but chaps there need the car a day to due a full custom map

It is rather concerning to see that a heavily modified engine is not re-mapped. I would like to know where the unfounded claims come from that the ECU can re-adjust that much!?!

I definitively would never take any advise from such a company.

But that's me.

I know of a GTT'd car running a lot more mods and he has stock MINI Cooper S map (non JCW). Howver he does have fueling changes such as bigger injectors and FPR etc...to allow the map to fuel enough. The map itself is very capable and in 90% of cases seems to be nice and smooth as long as you give it a helping hand on the fuel etc....there are some issues on occasion with flat spots but on the whole the Cooper S and JCW maps are pretty robust from what i have seen first hand.

How much is your Cooper S making and what mods have you got?

Have you got a pre re-map dyno and a mapped dyno sheet / file you can share with us?
