BMC CDA Air Filter for Cooper S

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could offer their help. I've a BMC CDA Air Filter that was fitted to my previous car (VW Polo GTi) I was wondering if it is possible to fit this to my Cooper S?

The model of the kit is as follows:

Code : CDA70-130

D1 (mm)D2 (mm)L1 (mm)70130185
SUGGESTED UP TO 1.600 CC

On the BMC website it says the kit I have will fit the 1.6 One and there is a seperate version intended for the Cooper S which has the following dimensions:

Code : CDASP-10

D1 (mm)D2 (mm)L1 (mm)70150160
D1 is the connection to the engine which is the same on both filters, D2 is the width of the filter and L1 is the length of the filter. It appears that the model I have will connect to the car but with the length being 25mm longer will I run into problems? By looking in the engine bay it appears to fit!?!

Also after I've removed the standard airbox where do I go about attaching the battery terminal? Do I simply leave it hanging? Is there anything else that would need securing?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!

Mark

Trial and error... take it apart and have a go... shouldn't take you more than an hr...

As for the battery terminal... not so sure...

Perhaps the battery terminal can be attached to the filter canister mounting bracket ...

I didnt think to attach it to the cannister mounting bracket thanks for that! I'm going to give it a go fitting this weekend if I can, fitting on my old car proved something of a nightmare lets hope this trial install goes ok. When it was on my old car it sounded perfect so cant wait to see if it fits ok.
