Samco Silicone Hose Kit

Has anyone got this hose kit on their mini. If so could you post some pictures of how it looks in the engine compartment. Does anyone know how many tubes the kit consists of, will it replace all the tubing under the bonnet or just the main, easy to access ones? Thanks

Hi, Ive got them. No photo yet sorry, will try to get one up. The induction hose is fairly easy to fit but the other are a major job as they are the coolant hoses. The fron tof the car needs to come off to get to 2 of them. The original clips are a PITA to get off to without a proper clip tool.

The kit doesnt replace all the tubes just the major ones - 6 if i recall correctly. Some will also need to be cut to fit correctly.

The samco kit I bought for my MCS was 4 hoses, which replaces the two small hoses that connect to the header tank, the two front hoses with one, and another one to the bottom of the rad to the right. None of the hoses needed to be cut.

The front two joined together with the bleed screw is one piece. The samco replacement has a screw in that bleeds the coolant. DO NOT USE A SPANNER ON IT. Make sure its only hand tight when you screw it back up or else you risk splitting the hose.

The SFS hose kit is 3 hoses. Two are for the front and uses the OEM bleed screw section, and the other peice is to the lower rad connection. As it doesnt replace the two smaller hoses form the header tank and doesnt use its own bleed screw the SFS kit is cheaper.

Cheapest place for the samco hoses is here: http://www.aldonauto.co.uk/shop/prod...hFor=&PT_ID=89

Bhozar is right. Samco ones have (in the past on the R5) had after a period of time a habit of leaking where the bleed union is bonded into the hose......I prefer the SFS design which retains the original bleed off.

Roland - Do you sell blue silicone hose that could be used for connecting to the GTT oil catch can?

Hi Al, Silicone hose (unless special flouro lined , which it rarely is..) is not suitable for oil . TBH your better off using multicarburant hose as supplied even though its black.
Best Regards Roland

My apologies - I should have said that the INDUCTION hose, which is seperate from the kit, may need cutting depending on which induction kit you have fitted. With the JCW airbox, I needed to take off about 2 inches for a good fit. The coolant hoses all fitted spot on

Is that better

I second the above.......................I had to cut about 20mm off one end and 25mm off the other in order to keep the connector stub at the same height as the OEM induction hose..................I have the GTT CAI fitted to my car.
