So where/when have I said I may be up for this
Guys if you want to test straight line performance without the huge variations you get from having /not having a proper drag set up (tyres.suspension set up ,limited slip diff, low weight, launch control, driver skill, full throttle gear change, clutch) then enter a challenge such as the 30-130mph one that 'Too Much' mentions. Challenges like these have evolved in preference to standing starts as it elimates the huge difference that 'non engine mods' like those mentioned above make to the 0 to 30mph times.
-your much less likely to trash your clutch/gearbox/driveshafts/engine mounts aswell
-Castle Combe Mini Action Day Sat 29th Sept......Ive just pre -booked 7 sessions for 1320 Autos on the track at the same time as me. Thats nearly 2 hours of acceleration ,braking and cornering on the limit..... .....well are you up for it?

So where/when have I said I may be up for this

I never said you were Roland I said

I'm sure there must be more than16 Minis on this board that make more than 230bhp.

The ones I can think off are;

Unconfirmed

Roland GTT 350bhp

Last year I was the fastest BMW there, did I get one mention in a BMW mag?? er No, this year with the Q16 it would be nice to get as many Minis qualified in the top 16 as possible, your car has to be the top contender for doing this as it should run mid 12s @ 116ish, so do I want you there? Of course I do, do I want to race you? No, I just want you to qualify and show the M3 owners the way home

I'm up for the 30-130 challange

Thanks for booking Castle Coobe for me Roland. It is our National Finals day at Santa Pod but I dont mind coming down so you can make me look slow / stupid

Sorry Henry I wasn't aware of this, glad you're happy. What have you done with the twin-charge set up then??

Take me off your 'unconfirmed list' please.....I see you've changed the post wording a bit . So your cars would be slow on anything other than a quarter mile few second drag race then?
TBF Drag racing is your thing, your skilled at it and your cars are set up 100% for this.....you should beat the M3's again.....good luck to you

Nope, No wording has been changed Roland, apart from moving people in there approaite places.

As you know Its not about the car but the driver as well, I'm not a fast driver even on the road and I openly admit that I would need an instructor next to me.

As for the car being slow I honestly dont know and haven't got a clue, I suppose the stock Mini One suspension wont be up to the job, though it has lived quite well to it at the strip.

Paul,

I got everything back from Marc at 'Nitrous & Turbo Developments' except my turbo and manifold which he has run off with...hopefully back to South Africa for his sake. I got royally shafted I think is the expression.

Cheers,

Henry

We went a 13.24 , 28 , 30 , 34 with a 15%, Janspeed ex manifold, 380 inj, GRS IC, one ball, ally flywheel, uprated clutch, slicks all at 102mph.

This works out at 215, 5bhp more than BRMCooper had at MITP so 230 at 2700lbs should get you there.

Obviously it all depends what the bump spot is this year

Well count me in Paul, im having a few things done to my car this friday!!!! Should be around 225/230bhp

And also confirm John with his 242bhp MCS (by the BMW show it will be around the 255 mark!!!!)

And also my friend Dan who has also confirmed to me that he is comming, a MCS that is already 230bhp.

So add us 3 to your confirmed list if you would paul.

Alex

It will have the MiniMania exhaust maifold, MiniMania 15% pulley, Iridium Spark plugs, and an Alta pannel air filter.

But if i can afford it i will have the new Alta intercooler.
