Tip 1 Just enjoy it

Tip 2 If you want to remain penniless for the rest of your life dont do it

On a serious note its no different than being on the road at a set of lights, you will through the course of the day learn where your best shift point is and what rpm to leave the line at.

got to disagree with 1320 Sutos on one thing thats not quite like a traffice light grand prix, and that is if there is a wekenss in your drive train then the strip will find it if you are unsympathetic when pulling away. The track is so sticky that you can easily snap a drive shaft, burn out a clutch or worse blow your gearbox like a lot end up doing. so be careful on first few runs, especially if your having a new clutch and flywheel fitted

Everyone is so negative about "the strip", in theory it should be just like trafic light drag!? Paul i have had a few test runs with John to launch the car in the best way. I found that by riding the clutch very slightly so that i dont wheel spin but the front of the car starts judering as the wheels gain traction and then break it again is the best. Is it ok for it to "judder" when i launch it?

Alex

The judeering is down tothe tyre hooking then spinning then hooking then spinning, we had the same thing and the cure was poly bush the rear bush on the front wishbone, the side benefit is better handling as well.

The free alternative is it does that is to peddle it (lift off and back on the throttle as quick as possible)
