356BHP 12.162 @119.02 on BFG Drag Radials

After breaking the driveshaft on Friday I decided that I wouldn't bother racing on Saturday and just go up and watch with my 7yr old son Jake.

On the way up to the Pod Jake convinced me that we should put the stock driveshaft back in and have another go. We decided that we would put the drag radials on as these would spin and hopefully save the driveshaft.

Apart from splitting the bottom ball joint and pulling the driveshaft out and putting the used one back in Jake done the whole job on his own with supervision.

The end result;

60ft 2.1110
330ft 5.3860
1/8 8.0009
mph 94.34
1000ft 10.2022
1/4 12.1620
mph 119.02

In the first 100ft I had to get off / on it a couple of times due to it spinning I believe we could get it in the 11s with some fine tuning.

We crossed the line in 5th at 7000rpm hitting the rpm limiter.

My best time at the 06 BMW show on these drag radials was

60ft 1.983
1/8th 8.181
1/4 12.625
mph 110.28

So we've gained .46sec and 8.74mph which equals a 84bhp gain

The funny thing I usually have to pay him to work on the car, but he enjoyed it so much he said

"I've decided that I wont charge you for helping you today because I've enjoyed breaking records"

Well done Paul, saw on Saturday in you 97ci mini! Looked really good was very impressed with your time. Put a little nitro in the tank and you will be giving Andy and Urs a run for their money!!

Seriously though well done good to see a mini out there with the Yank tanks.

Glad to see the 97cu in made someone its started to come togeather now but as usual at the end of the season.

Andy come over to us last year and said he couldn't believe how quick the Mini was, not a bad comment from someone who has just run a 4.64 @ 300 ( we've known each over for over 20yrs)
