2002 Cat Back Exhaust on + 2004 Car

Hi All
I recently installed a 2nd Hand Cat Back Borl exhaust on the GF's cooper S.
The exhaust was from an early model car and the GF's car is a + 2004 model so the inner hangers are different, and presently not being used.
Looking at various photos and info on the web it looks possible that the actual car body hangers bolt up to the floor of the car, and therefore I was think would it be possible to purchase 2002 hangers and bolt these to the same spot as the current floor hangs and actually use the inner hangers on the exhaust.

I guess this will be totally reliant on the early and late model hangers bolting to the same point on the floor of the car.

Does anyone know if this is the case or has anyone done this?
