Not quite the same but my car has now passed two MOTs (2 different places) with flying colours. I run a milltek mani/cat though. My light has rarely come on except for when I have run proper race spec octane booster.

I'm booked in for my MOT tomorrow (1st one after fitting sports cat) so will report back.

Not had any lights since fitting several months ago.

Sorry I must point out that it's over fuelling - probably the 440cc injectors - I'm not pointing the finger at the GTT manifold

Other causes include poor compression from poor seating of the valves in the head, incorrect cam timing, aftermarket mapping that does not put the car back in closed loop at idle and faulty upstream sensor. If you have had lots of backfiring this will ruin any cat (ask Ant FR about his Miltek cat !) Our car ran 550 injectors and flew through the mot with our turbo kit and GTT (Janspeed) cat...
If the mapping is wrong and not going into closed loop the GTT AFPR may help but in closed loop (as it should be) the ecu should just adjust duration to achieve 14.7;1 AF ratio whatever injector size or pressure your running (within its correction limits).

Not the sensor - it's been checked
Not an aftermarket map - it's still standard
Only had 2 x misfires - not had that problem again

Maybe I should go for the GTT AFPR although as Roland states - the fueling should be in closed loop.

yeah, just a year of backfiring and my Milltek Cat was destroyed. Hopefuly now with less backfiring it should be lasting longer as milltek replaced it under warranty.

Just got back from MOT, passed with flying colours - CO level = 0.03% at 2811rpm, HC = 3ppm

MOT guy liked the exhaust noise (GTT Manifold + re-route pipe)

Still a big fat fail for me................looks like the 330cc injectors are going back in to get it through its MOT......................in fact may keep them in period!
