Teflon Supercharger at 1.2 bar

I now have the teflon supercharger fitted and thanks to a rolling road at 1320 I know its running at 1.2bar. Does anyone actually know what the most efficient boost/rpm would be for this supercharger before its efficiency drops and too much heat starts building?

that it all depends on how cool you can keep it.

I run 19.5 psi at max boost and on the road my intake temps dont go above 60 with normal british weather.

Wow, thats a lot, what pulley and IC are you running and have you been on the dyno since those mods?

Just interested to see if the 17% pulley or 19% for that matter is really reaching beyond what the supercharger and say a GRS intercooler can manage?

Im running a 17% with stock size bottom pulley, and yes the gauge is calibrated!!

Also running the GTT intercooler.

Last time I went on a rolling road the guy at the place just made numbers up I think!!

I do have a lot of logging equipment in the car so I have been able to set it up during road and track use.

Inefficiency starts at 13psi and gets worse with higher pressures-

Is that the efficiency of the charger or the complete setup you have tested?

I have seen so many cars with boost leaks now that I have become numb to the "how much boost can the charger handle"!

It all depends on you ability to cool the charged air? yes / no?

Also i'll throw another point in....

The smaller the pulley the more HP and Torque it requires to turn the SC so at what point are you increasing boost but not getting much from it due to the extra strain on the engine and charge temps?

The faster you spin the Eaton the more horsepower gets sapped

Have you done any testing though to show what the peak speed of the SC created the peak HP? I'm just really interested to know.......

Me too... I've heard 14k RPM is the optimum but I have asked for clarification from Eaton themselves.

yeah you have to over rev the M45 to make big boost. this takes the supercharger out of the efficencey range and you strat to heat the air more than actually move it. this is a problem with turbos, and why you will make more power from a larger turbo than a smaller one (you are moveing the same volume of air, just the boost form the bigger turbo is cooler and denser giving you more power). also this menas you have to run a bigger intercooler to get the temps back down.

you dont just have to concider boost presure but airflow and the rpm the supercharger will be working at.

is there any news on the OPCON (spell) twin screw 'charger???

thanks Chris.
