Changing Air Filter and Plugs

Hi all,

After reading some posts here - I am thinking I should have a look at and maybe change my air filter and spark plug - not been changed unless the dealer did it in the last service (Inspection 1)...

Which air filter and spark plugs to go for and how easy is it to change them - what tools are needed etc - please advise?

GFS (German & Swedish) do Pipercross Panel filters for about £30 - any good?

Denso Iridium plugs or Bosch etc?...

What are the benefits of these parts over standard ones?

Sorry i am not very mechanically minded!

thanks for the info in advance

I am going to do the same thing soon before i travel to england.

I am getting denso iridium spark plugs. Im on 45000 miles and my main service was on 37000. I am changing them now as myself and my dad did the service ourselves (second hand car) and did not change the spark plugs and the air filter because at the time it did not need it.

Denso iridium spark plugs help with starting the car and running in cold temps and will make everything seem a bit chrisper( well so i have heard from other peopl using them). And also, you might as well pay the extra to get better parts.

Air filter I am just going for a K&N( think that is it) or pipercross panel filter to replace the stock one.

It should make a nice difference in car health and drivability in the morning and they arent too expensive.

Oh btw- denso iriduium spark plugs on ebay for mini's (new obv) from america works out at £27 including p&p which is a good saving also.
