Please can people post up your 30-70mph times in 3rd gear with a basic spec/HP of your MINI. I'm very interested to see how everyone compares as this will test low end/mid range torque which is what we really use everyday instead of outright drag stripe HP. The idea is to read dead on 30mph and then floor it to 70mph.
These can easily be taken on any straight flat piece of national speed limit road with a stop watch and using the OBC read out. Please no slip roads as it can be dangerous and most of them either go up or down hill.
Mine was taken from the average of 4 runs rather than the fastest:
GTT 230+ with a couple of extra mods - 6.2seconds
Thanks

I have fixed my boost leak and the car is pulling much better now.
Tools used to fix boost leak: dremel, claw hammer, grinder and washing-up liquid. What I thought was just dirt on my IC has been a boost leak. Wish I knew that earlier in the year. Oh well, shows how important a boost guage is.
Soon as I can find somewhere to borrow a stop watch from I will do these tests. Either that, or find someone who can do datalogging.

On Nitrous 11.16@123 0-100 7.1991
It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it

My LG doesnt and my C600 doesnt either. I cant be bothered to work out how to install apps on either (I hate phones) so I'm just going to go see LD.

That would be mine
Car felt great driving home and I found some blinding A and B roads
Manifold is spot on cheers Roland - power delivery seems a little smoother and keener + the noise is perfect
GTT, GRS, Janspeed, JCW, OMP + various other bits - 232.6bhp, 191.2lbft on 1320's rolling road

glad your enjoying it Neil
OK The GTT300T 30-70mph in THIRD gear . As we and 1320 know is a dificult one for powerful turbo R53's, and a mega result is not expected. 1320 reckoned in the tens with a marginally larger turbo than ours such as GT30. We have just done repeated tests using both G tech and stopwatch.
We are running 97 Ron BP ultimate ,and for all testing had two people in the car . (total 175kg)
We are running 28psi in the front tyres so no 40 psi pressures to help. We used a bumpy bit of road which is straight. Marginally uphill one way , and down the other. We took averages of these two.
.......4.85 seconds!!
To show the car is not in the powerband in the above test, we also did 30-70 in second gear
......2.85 seconds!! (a lot of grappling going on, even with hot tyres)
Best Regards Roland GTT
