Just took another GTT220 (+GTT Re-route) out for 30-70 in third gear ,that was in for a service today. This is a high geared early car with very tall large outside diameter tyres.
5.7 Average. Not bad ..and no weight removal either!

Impressive Roland, did you use the gtech for this? Just shows that my high geared car needs to lose some weight... or its driver does... dust for tea again

How much does 1320s car weigh compared to the other cars here.? Someone said it was 200kg lighter ., even 100kg is a fair bit of advantage. I think you should mark which are early and which are late gearing cars too ,to give a better picture.
No stopwatch, its quite cool out there now too.

But then it gets a bit silly as I could be running on fumes and get a quicker time than someone with more power but a full tank or my lightweight wheels (when they turn up) could be seen as an advantage. Removing weight from the car IMO is just as important as adding power... the benefit is its free... if it helps I can put the bhp next to the figures I measure??

Plus I weigh 155kg (or two BRMCoopers) so I'm at a disadvantage from the get go!

Not at all. Yes there are many variables but a fully gutted car is more difference than half a tank of fuel. Its your thread . At least make the point that the weight and different gearing have a significant effect.
Our Mini is always the quickest Mini on the race track Jan ...even when it was a mere 270bhp.
Weight is the enemy ..I'd agree with that

True, a fully gutted car will make a difference but not as much as adding a bloomin great turbo! . Whats the setup on your car Roland, just wondering what you'd be bringing to Bedford if you can make it??

But you havnt added Lees 'turbo' time to your 30-70 list. and if you did I would fully expect it to be marked 'Turbo'. I could strip a GTT220 car right out, use late gearbox, low fuel, 50psi in the small diameter tyres and probably equal 1320's time. What Im saying is these differences could easily change the running order. I know its not 'serious' but you might as well make it as best you can.
Jan....we dont use the large turbos you use over there. tbh I too would expect a GT3071 or GT3076 to be not very good on a track. Lees car gave 300lb ft torque.
