at last, someone has realised that 30 - 70mph, and 70 -90mph, far more important than, rolling road bhp, 15% pulley v 17% etc etc.
post GTT 230, Manifold, milltek back box. the car is absolutely awesome, on the motorway, keeping up with traffic flow, it is effortless at 70mph, in 6th gear, drop it down and the approx 177bhp per ton, really comes into it's own. the mini is all about power to weight ratio, add super handling and you are in lotus Elise territory.
Yup, thanks to the long gearing on the older box 2nd gear is awesome at 30-70mph, I'd like to put it through the performancebox though when I get it back.. be interesting to see what other people get especially those with over 200 whp and an old box. There are some pretty amazing cars with similar 30-70mph times:
Impreza STI: 5.0
Evo VIII: 4.9
Exige MK2: 4.8
RS4: 4.1
Z4 M Coupe: 4.6
Those do seem low cosidering the mods you have mate. Especially with an outside temp of 4 deg C! You must be running 230 bhp with your mods surely?? Were you on your own or did you have a passenger?
Doesn't make sense, makes me want to go re-test mine now, feel like a fraud . Have you been on the dyno recently? I'd expect you to be quicker than me, I've no back seats but I defo weigh more than you so that shouldn't make a difference.
I've got a new application for my IPAQ that uses GPS to monitor speed but but sadly the best I could do was 6 dead on but I dont trust it as the GPS sample speed wasnt anywhere near fast enough. Tomorrows task is to find an application with equally good features that supports ODB2 instead and we'll see where we are. Failing that its the stop watch again.....
