I think you know full well it was 40bhp...you follow the threads in the GTT forum ,so you know full well, why try to bring up things that have been covered so many times.
Bypass Valves.....as stock they are NOT shut, once tweaked they are.

My bypass valve recently failed (the spring snapped), I bought a brand new one from BMW and had a good look at it. Chris fitted it when I had the manifold done, BMW now threadlock the adjuster on the revised valve (that has a stiffer spring) he optimised it by flattening the screw head that it hits when closed. This extra 1mm or so means the butterfly is deffo fully closed, this is all the optimisation is. Very, very simple.

When talking fails, it's time for violence. ~ batou.

....And even 6 years after the Mini was released Jan doesnt realise that.
Its not the way we do it btw (flattening off the screw) +we do something else to it aswell.

99% of all by pass valves are closed from the factory. I have seen 2 of all the cars we have looked at and that is hundreds of them

as for the dyno graph and info... look here , from your customer directly

http://www.mini2.com/forum/3401047-post87.html

run 3 says 176.7whp (before stage 4 head)
run 4 with your head/cam/injectors/AFPR= 190.9whp
we will throw in your by pass valve as a bonus

With airleak sorted and AFPR adjusted ..40bhp.....youve seen the thread in the GTT forum
You choose to only mention the parts that suits your marketing and mislead genuine M2 users when you know full well the whole story. Yet again you try and rubbish /distort our achievments .
Ive seen hundreds of bypass valves , Ive never found a single closed one yet.

Cleaned up the above.... Folks, bypass valves are not on the topic of 30-70mph times - if you want to discuss them, please start a new thread.

On the topic of 30-70 tests, have there been many done by a standard MCS?

Jaw_F430,

How did you measure this? ...and with G-Tech? Was yours older GB? The best I managed with 224hp was 6.2 I believe (with G-Tech).

...and yes, it would be very interesting to see the improvement after your new bits

Sam

Damn, perhaps I will have to upgrade my gadget arsenal to include a GPS based device to get to the bottom of this (and enough decimals to satisfy the geeks among us) Was this the "box of tricks" orwhateveritwascalled that sb had?

No BS has a performance box which logs all the times. I think he will be bringing it to SRR day so we can test my car there to see what the new results are

Might bring mine down Ben, would be good to do the 30-70 in a standard MCS as a benchmark
