I didn't waiting for the evening.

So I take the profi stopwatch (not the gsm now or something) and try all over again.

I have the rev limit at 7200 (MTH) so with my 205/40 r17 AVONs on 2.5 bars is that just a little less then a 70miles. But noting worth to mention.

So:
The fuel tank was full, outside temperature was 8 °C.
In the third with OZ ultraleggeras and about 130kg in the car (me, my luggage and subwoofer) was:
Between 6.2 and 6.5 seconds. Depends in wich run. But say about 6.3-6.4 seconds.

In second gear oh yeah was bettwen 4.0 to 4.30 seconds. So said about 4.15 second. Actually not to bad a?

I was measured from cca 56km/h to the 120km/h on the tacho.

I am waiting your times in second gear. And please told us wich gearbox do you have.
I must to metion that I have changed the camshaft and my car is down to 4000rpm really lazy.

Yes but it has a stock 03 engine in it at the moment with a Apexi SAFC, janspeed manifold, borla exhaust, Exedy flywheel and clutch, 05 gearbox and 205/50-15, it run a best off 14.47@ 95.7 last weekend.

Ours is an older version and thats what I've played with today, but I do have the advantage of being able to log rpm air fuel over time to see how each change I make effects the car.

At the moment I'm tuning the car to get the best 30-70 with teh apexi, so its all your fault.

Could you tell me how much give you apexi. Is worth of the money or is better to stay with my MTH and do some other jobs on the car.

My plan is to do custom head, big throttle body, 05 compresor and new pipe from throttle body to the compresor. The original is strange. In somwhere on the middle became really small.

I hope I will get between 10-15 HP. What you think? And one another thing. Will I need a new chip?
Right now I am at 11.3 - 11.6 (depend on which rpms) ratio. I think this is still safe enough (if it wouldn't be my car will be already broken ).

I do like the apexi because it doesn't matter which combo we're running we can tune to suit, we have a lot of runs on the dyno with the apexi so Thomas has a real good idea what tune to put in it, and even I had today.

A lot of people have spent a lot of hours on the flowbench trying to find out what works, its not like other heads.

I know of other Mini owners / tuners who have hit 230+whp with the stock compressor to throttle body pipe.

I think your estimate for a head (10-15) is spot on, though there are heads out there what seem to produce a lot more than this.

No new chip, your current air fuel is safe as houses.

Just finished off a night of testing and the rest of my tank of petrol too!! Yes the last runs were with the red light on but compared to the 1/4 of a tank times its not any different. 6degrees C outside and i've added a MiniMania 4-2-1 manifold with decat for these runs. Really need to get on the dyno to see what HP I am running these days... should be around 240bhp....

30-70mph times:
5.7
5.8
5.8
Average 5.77s

30-70mph uphill sliproad:
6.2
6.2
6.3
Average 6.23

30-67mph(Think thats right... hit the rev limit every time!)
3.5
3.6
3.6
Average 3.57

I data logged the whole thing so when I get the time and the will to do it i'll see what the ecu said my max speed was in second and see what my boost pressure was.

p.s. had a quick look....and for the 30-70mph times...

Timing angle varies between -20 and 50 degrees! Can that be right?
Intake pressure(T-MAP) ran between -13.07PSI and 18.16PSI. Not bad and didnt even reach the redline.

30-64mph (thats the rough speed I can see in the logs)
Timing : -14 to 50 degrees
Boost : -13.36 to 17.29PSI

P.s.s just checked the maps and 50degrees is the limit for the face lift map...

Decrease I think you'll find

What is the timing under acceleration??

What rpm are you seeing at 30 and 70??

Still looking forward to your RR test with the MM manifold too But we'll see if it gets better or worse on the road too.

Does go to show how the performance changes on a cool evening as it was about 3 degrees less than my last test and getting rid of the stock CAT/manifold.

I'll have a look and see what the timing is. I think the 50 by looking at the map is just high rpm with tiny acceleration.

Ummm I can go find out later... I didnt log the rpm as with each new value I sample it gets slower. Will log my trip to work and find out

This is turning out to be an excellent post!!

I see that a few people have data loggers fitted to their cars which they are using to give accurate info...................can anyone recommend a data logger?

I'm still perplexed with my times - I may try another run later today.

If you are looking at data loggers then try and get one that is fast. I use a generic ELM327 interface which I use for reading fault codes and monitoring all the OBD readings. Sadly it isnt amazingly fast at data logging....

I've attached a copy of a data log from last night for one run which was an early on one. No idea if it was fast or not....
