I haven't broken a mount but mine is the early mounting, it seems people are having problems with the later one, I'm not sure if Fireball Brian has had a problem with his and that is putting some power out.

Oh yeah, yours was the drive shafts. Sorry about that. I'm glad I have the early engine mounts too. Odd that BMW changed to the later ones that have issues. Seems like an opening on the market to develop a decent replacement mount, not just a band aid fix like an engine steady. (Like I also have on mine)

Glad I am not on my own then on this one. BMW should realise that there are a few customers going back to the dealers with broken mounts. I am just a bit worried as I do not want to damage anything else but I need to use my car for work this week. Well I did drive all the way back from Santa Pod with it broken!

Got one years warranty left so wonder how many I will go through in that time

There must be a lot more stress on the other mounts on my car though with one broken.

Regards

James

the main stress will be on the exhaust. When my engine mount went on my fiesta it snapped the exhaust right at the front. So if you do have to use it which i would'nt apart from getting it to the garage, i would makesure you do very light pull aways and drive very very smoothly. so thatmakes strip an absoloute no no

Not just down to the strip tho, it could be down to me generally doing fast launches as I normally play with a 1200 bandit on the way to work most mornings.

Strip was a lot of fun, and the engine mount should be able to withstand it as paul from 1320autos has no problems
