Hi guys,

Thanks for all the comments & help - much appreciated tbh the car hasn't been the same since it went into the dealers for it's last oil change.

I have very limited access to a PC as I'm not at home but once I do I will scan my dyno read outs and let you know what the engineer has said.

Hopefully it is the by-pass valve and nothing more sinister!

Very intresting thread, especially to me as my GTT210 +GRS+Milltek came out at 194bhp at 1320 autos... I will be visiting them probably either next week or the week after for some major investigation to see why I'm down on power.

Falkland Performance in Glenrothes are doing the work. I would have gone to Roland but I've already been down this year and can't really afford to take more time off work.........so I bought the parts from Roland (apart from the head) so it's still GTT items.

I've spoken to the guys today again - they are keeping the are until Monday now.

if you really want to find out BHP what your car is.... pull the engine and hook it to an engine dyno

Is this the place?? that is some investmant with that dyno, I'm curious why the drivetrain loss is so huge.

It makes it hard when you're comparing numbers with the US guys as they talk in whp.

There is a Janspeed MCS head on display in there reception area. We see it everytime we go in to collect exhausts. Its pretty basic CNC milling though (no 3D stuff). The best heads with the most advanced CNC machining are the GTT heads. We are very advanced with CNC milling (that was my trade for 14 years).
Claims of high power increase on stock engines + gasflowed head are a bit like the increases you get by remapping a standard mcs.............ie not representative of the increases you would get from that head or remap COMBINED with a hike in boost.
eg Take a standard head slice 1mm off the face ..gain 20 horsepower or so (and VERY torquey!) and market the head as 'gains 25bhp' even on a stock car. Trouble is that head would need to be so different on a pullied car to gain the 25bhp (reliably). Same with mapping, you can gain 'say' 15bhp on a standard car BUT again this map doesnt work with a pullied car. ( too advanced timing) In effect there are 3 things you can increase ...TIMING, COMPRESSION BOOST. You need to see the results of 'off the production line' heads on cars with boost increase etc. Not one off 'blueprinted' heads on stock boost cars. I reckon I could produce a head that would gain around 40bhp on a stock engine +remap. It wouldnt be any good with a pulley though, and the overall max you could get from the engine would be limited. You need to balance everything ..thats how we got 273bhp (240whp) from our old supercharged GTT260 car.(uses GTT stage 2 head)

The car is rebuilt and waiting to be picked up although the guy working on it states that too much fuel going into the engine especially with the 450cc injectors......................the up shot is that the car desperately needs remapped!

I now need to find someone that can give me a remap:

1. I've emailed EssentialMini for MTH - they are having problems with them and I think have pulled them off their web site - so that's a no go!
2. I've emailed Roland at GTT to see if he can help me out - 90% of parts are GTT - just awaiting a reply.
3. Anyone else give me names / details of companies I can get a re-map from?

Thanks
